Joseph Vijay Sworn in as Tamil Nadu’s 13th Chief Minister
- C. Joseph Vijay, having been sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, launched his dynamic administration the very minute the Governor departed. Standing on the same dais where he took his oath, and in the presence of the public, he signed three highly significant government orders.
- With his first signature, the Chief Minister implemented a scheme designed to alleviate the electricity burden on the people of Tamil Nadu: providing 200 units of free electricity every two months to consumers whose usage falls within the 500-unit limit.
- For his second signature, the Chief Minister signed a file authorizing the creation of a new unit titled the "Singapen Special Task Force" (Lioness Special Task Force), aimed at suppressing crimes against women with an iron hand and ensuring a safe environment for women across the state.
- With his third signature, he signed a file establishing a dedicated "Anti-Narcotics Force" to completely eradicate the drug trafficking that is destroying the future of Tamil Nadu's youth.
- Suvendu Adhikari has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. He is the first Chief Minister from the BJP to hold this office in the state.
- He took his oath in Bengali in the presence of several Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone, inaugurated and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects worth around ₹9,400 crore in Hyderabad, Telangana.
- Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted Hyderabad’s transformational significance as a centre of both national and global importance.
