CM M.K. Stalin lays foundation stone for Wagtail Conservation Centre in Pichavaram, International Bird Centre in Marakkanam
- On 4.3.2026, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Shri M.K. Stalin laid the foundation stone for the Wagtail Conservation Centre to be set up at Pichavaram at a cost of Rs. 26.50 crore under the Tamil Nadu Sustainable Marine Resources and Blue Economy Project, the International Bird Centre at Marakkanam at a cost of Rs. 50.30 crore under the Tamil Nadu Marine Resources and Blue Economy (TN-SHORE) Project, and the Nilgiri Bird Conservation Centre at Gandhipuram, Coimbatore district under the 'Nilgiri Bird Conservation Project', at the Secretariat on behalf of the Environment, Climate Change and Forest Department.
- Union Home Minister and Minister for Cooperatives, Shri Amit Shah, launched four digital platforms for Census 2027 in New Delhi. He also unveiled the icons for the census, "Pragati" (Female) and "Vikas" (Male). The Computer Development Centre has developed advanced digital platforms to facilitate the census process across the country.
- C.V. Ananda Bose, who is serving as the Governor of West Bengal, resigned from his post on Thursday (March 5). R.N. Ravi has been appointed as the new Governor of West Bengal.
