Union Minister Jitendra Singh laid the foundation stone for the National Quantum Computing Centre building in Amaravati
- In Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister of State for Information Technology Jitendra Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu jointly laid the foundation stone for the 'Amaravati Quantum Valley' centre building in the evening.
- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and several Union and State ministers participated in the event.
- Prime Minister Modi undertook a two-day official visit to Malaysia with the aim of strengthening the friendly relations between India and Malaysia. During this visit, six important agreements were signed between India and Malaysia in sectors including health and national security.
- Key features of these 'IMPACT' (India-Malaysia Partnership for Advancing Collective Transformation) agreements. A new Indian Embassy is to be established in Malaysia. This will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
- A 'Thiruvalluvar Centre' will be established in Malaysia to celebrate the shared heritage of both countries. India's UPI and Malaysia's PayNet are being integrated. This will facilitate easy work transactions between the two countries. Furthermore, the costs involved will also be reduced.
- This will be a great help to Malaysians working in India and Indians working in Malaysia. Both countries will enhance cooperation in the semiconductor sector, focusing on supply chain and workforce development.
- Both countries will work together on maritime security, counter-terrorism, and intelligence sharing. A social security agreement to improve the welfare of Indian workers employed in Malaysia.
- A 'Thiruvalluvar Scholarship' will be provided to encourage Malaysian students to study in India. Until December 31st of this year, Indians can travel to Malaysia without a visa. Malaysia will join the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), an initiative spearheaded by India for wildlife conservation.
- The two countries have also signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in areas such as health, medicine, disaster management, and combating corruption.
- In the Asian Shooting Championships currently underway in Delhi, a tough competition ensued with the Japanese shooter. Elavenil secured first place with 252.0 points. Japan's Misaki Nobata (251.5) won the silver medal, and India's Meghana Sajjanar (229.5) won the bronze medal.
- In addition to winning gold in the individual event, Elavenil also created a record in the team event. The Indian team, comprising Elavenil Valarivan, Arya Borse, and Meghana Sajjanar, collectively scored 1892.6 points and won the gold medal in the team event.
- With this victory, Elavenil has achieved a rare feat at the Asian level. Having won gold in the 2019 and 2025 Asian Championships, Elavenil has now won gold again in 2026, securing her third individual gold medal in this tournament.
