  • In the Tamil Nadu Government's 2025-2026 budget, it was announced that "to prevent cervical cancer and to completely eradicate the disease in Tamil Nadu, the government plans to gradually provide the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccine to all 14-year-old girls. Rs. 36 crore will be allocated for this purpose in 2025-26."
  • Accordingly, this program to prevent cervical cancer has been launched today. In the first phase, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. India-European Union Free Trade Agreement
  • The free trade agreement between India and the European Union has been successfully concluded. This is considered one of the world's largest trade agreements. This agreement has created a massive market connecting both sides, encompassing approximately 2 billion people.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen jointly announced this agreement. It has been stated that this will gradually reduce the import duty on luxury cars such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
  • The current tax of up to 110 percent is expected to decrease to as low as 10 percent in the future. As a result, luxury cars are expected to become more affordable in India. Furthermore, tax concessions will also be provided for European wines, chocolates, and other products.
  • This will create significant opportunities in the European market for Indian export products such as textiles, jewellery, and pharmaceuticals. With the successful conclusion of negotiations that spanned 18 years, there is confidence that this agreement will give a new impetus to the Indian economy.
