
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated various projects worth Rs 47,600 crore in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and laid the foundation stone for new projects
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated various projects worth Rs 47,600 crore in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He inaugurated the metro rail work from Sunnyganj Metro Station to Kanpur Central Metro Station, worth over Rs 2,120 crore, as part of the Kanpur Metro Rail project.
- The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a 220 KW substation at Block 28 on the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. He also inaugurated 132 KW substations at Ecotech-8 and Ecotech-10 in Greater Noida, worth over Rs 320 crore.
- The Prime Minister inaugurated the 660 MW Bunki Thermal Power Expansion Project in Kanpur, worth over Rs. 8,300 crore, to enhance the energy efficiency of the state of Uttar Pradesh.
- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today dedicated various development projects worth Rs. 48,520 crore to the nation in Karakhat, Bihar. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the second phase (3x800 MW) of the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project in Aurangabad district, worth over Rs. 29,930 crore.
- He inaugurated the four-laning of the Patna-Gaya-Thobi section of National Highway-22 worth about Rs. 5,520 crore, and the four-laning of the high-level highway and upgraded roads in Gopalganj city on National Highway-27.
- The National Statistical Office, under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, has released the provisional estimates of the annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the financial year 2024-25 and the quarterly estimates for the January-March quarter of the same year.
- Accordingly, India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the last financial year 2024-25 is 6.5%. It is worth noting that this was 9.2% in the previous financial year 2023-24. Real GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2024-25 increased to 7.4%, the fastest quarterly growth of the year.
- The GDP growth in the third quarter was 6.4%. However, the growth in the fourth quarter of 2024-25 was lower than the 8.4% growth seen in the fourth quarter of the previous financial year.
- The agriculture, livestock and fishing sector grew by 5.4% in the fourth quarter. This was 0.9% in the fourth quarter of 2023-24. The growth in the manufacturing sector was 4.8% in the fourth quarter of 2024-25.
- This was the second fastest quarterly growth of the year. This was higher than the 11.3% growth in the fourth quarter of the previous year. The construction sector again achieved double-digit growth at 10.8% in the fourth quarter. This was the fastest growth of the year.
- Moreover, this is higher than the 8.7% growth seen in the 4th quarter of 2023-24. India's real GDP is estimated to have reached Rs. 187.97 lakh crore in the financial year 2024-25. It was Rs. 176.51 lakh crore in 2023-24.
