Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs.7,600 crore in Maharashtra
  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today (09.10.2024) laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs 7,600 crore in the state of Maharashtra through a video presentation.
  • Project works carried out today include laying of foundation stone for development of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur and new integrated terminal building at Shirdi Airport.
  • Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated the functioning of 10 Government Medical Colleges in Maharashtra, India Institute of Skills in Mumbai and Educational Research Center in Maharashtra State.
Eighth Joint Naval Exercise - Ibsamar
  • The flagship of the Indian Navy, INS Talwar arrived at Simon Town, South Africa on 06 October 24 to participate in the eighth edition of Ipsamar, a joint multinational maritime exercise of Indian, Brazilian and South African navies scheduled from 06 to 18 October 2024.
  • The exercise aims to improve interoperability and strengthen coordination between the three navies. The port phase training includes professional exchanges, damage control and fire drills, search and seizure exercises, cross-boarding, aviation safety lectures, joint submarine operations, ocean governance seminar, sports communications, special forces and junior officer discussions.
Union Cabinet approves construction of road in Rajasthan and Punjab border areas
  • Prime Minister Mr. The Union Cabinet chaired by Narendra Modi has approved construction of 2,280 kilometers of roads at an investment of Rs 4,406 crore in the border areas of Rajasthan and Punjab to improve infrastructure.
  • As in other parts of the country, the scheme will be implemented with a special focus on developing border areas with all amenities.
Union Cabinet approves setting up of National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal, Gujarat
  • Prime Minister Mr. The Union Cabinet chaired by Narendra Modi has approved the development of the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal in Gujarat. The project will be implemented in two phases.
  • Cabinet gave in-principle approval for Phase 1B and Phase 2 as per the Master Plan by raising funds through voluntary sources/contributions and implementing them after raising funds. Directorate of Lighthouses will finance the construction of Lighthouse Museum under Phase 1B.
Union Cabinet approves extension of Free Enriched Rice Scheme till December 2028
  • Prime Minister Mr. The Union Cabinet chaired by Narendra Modi approved the continuation of fortified rice in its current form from July 2024 to December 2028 under all government schemes, including the Prime Minister's Poor Wellbeing Food Scheme and other welfare schemes.
  • The Rice Enrichment Initiative will continue to be a Central Government initiative with 100% funding from the Central Government as part of the Prime Minister's Poor Wellbeing Food Scheme (Food Subsidy).
  • Rice fortification is the enrichment of regular rice with micronutrients such as iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 as per standards prescribed by the Food Safety and Quality Commission of India.
