Formula 4 car race was inaugurated by Minister Udayanidhi
- Sports Minister Udayanidhi flagged off the Formula 4 car race at Chennai Island. With the FIA giving preliminary approval, the practice matches of the car race began. Practice matches will be held till 10.45 pm.
- Formula 4 Car Indian Championship and Indian Racing League are organized by Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority (STAD), Racing Promotion Corporation (RBPL).
- 3.7 km. The long distance Chennai Formula 4 car race circuit starts from Aayuthidal, passes through War Memorial, Neppie Bridge, Swami Sivananda Road, Anna Road and ends back to Aayuthidal.
- There are 6 teams in the race called Indian Racing League. It also has 5 rounds. All the road sections where the competition will be held have high lights and spectators' domes.
- Vande Bharat trains are running on 5 routes in Tamil Nadu namely Chennai Central - Mysore, Chennai Central - Coimbatore, Chennai Central - Vijayawada, Chennai Egmore - Tirunelveli, Coimbatore - Bengaluru.
- In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2 Vande Bharat train service on Chennai-Egmore-Nagarkoil and Madurai-Bengaluru Cantonment routes today (August 31) through a video presentation.
- The timetable for the trains has also been published. It has been announced that these trains will start regular service from September 2.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday laid the foundation stone for the Vadwan port project to be implemented in Palghar district of Maharashtra. This port project is to be implemented at a cost of Rs.76,000 crore.
- The Supreme Court is the highest authority of the judiciary of our country. This Supreme Court has been functioning since 1950. Initially, this Supreme Court was functioning in the old Parliament Building.
- The Supreme Court functioned for 8 years in the old parliamentary phase. It was only then that the Supreme Court was shifted to its current location.
- In this context, the central government decided to issue a commemorative coin and postage stamp of Rs 75 to mark the 75th anniversary of the formation of the Supreme Court. Subsequently, a 2-day national conference was held at Delhi's Bharat Mandapam in which the judges of district courts of all jurisdictions and union territories participated.
- Prime Minister Modi inaugurated this conference today. The organized two-day conference will hold five working sessions to discuss issues related to the district judiciary such as infrastructure and human resources, inclusive courtrooms, judicial security and judicial well-being, case management and judicial training.
- Prime Minister Modi released a Rs 75 commemorative coin and stamp to mark the 75th anniversary of the formation of the Supreme Court on this occasion. Union Law Minister Arjun Meghwal, Chief Justice Chandrachud and other Supreme Court judges participated in the ceremony.
- The Central Government has conferred the prestigious status of 'Navaratna' Company on NHPC, the National Pipeline Power Corporation. As per the order issued by the Department of Public Enterprises (Ministry of Finance) on 30.08.2024, NHBC has been declared a 'Navaratna Company'. This gives it greater operational and financial autonomy.
