Discovery of 13th century inscription at Senchi Fort
  • Senchi in Villupuram district has a historic Senchikot. Here, a team consisting of Lenin, the founder of the Institute of Archaeology, retired headmaster Munusamy, and historian Senguttuvan conducted a field survey at Senchikottai Krishnagiri hill fort.
  • In it, at the gate of the Rajagopalaswamy temple there, AD. They discovered an inscription dating back to the 13th century. Ananda Gone was the first to build Senchi Fort. It is now known as Rajagiri.
  • 2nd Krishnagiri Fort was built by Krishna Gone. Later their successors Konerik Gone, Govindakone and Puliyakone expanded the fort. Their period was AD. Starting from 1200 AD. They ruled for 130 years till 1330.
