Discovery of red colored potsherds with fish pattern in underground excavation

• The 10th phase of excavation in Geezadi has been going on since the 18th of last month. In the first phase, two pits have been dug and excavation is in progress. In this excavation, glass moss beads, a pot shell inscribed with the Tamil character Tha have already been found.
• In this situation, on Monday, red colored pots with the shape of a fish were found. The length and width of these two tiles are 4.5 cm and 4.3 cm respectively.

15th Finance Committee Allocation of Rs.5,337 Crore to Kerala State Panchayats (2020–21 to 2026–27)

• The Central Panchayat Raj Ministry has clarified the reports in the state media that Kerala State Panchayats have been ignored by the 15th Finance Commission in allocating funds.
• During the period 2015-16 to 2019-20, the 14th Finance Commission disbursed Rs 3,774.20 crore to Kerala State Panchayats. At the same time, Rs.5,337 crore (as on 28.06.2024) has been given to these Panchayats for the period 2020-21 to 2026-27 as a grant from the 15th Finance Commission.
• As per the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission, it is mandatory for the State Governments to set up a State Finance Commission. The Ministry has sent a letter on June 11 and June 24, 2024 asking for the details of the State Finance Committees. 
• But as far as the state of Kerala is concerned, the ministry has said that no response has been received from the state till the 28th.

Sensex crossed 80,000 points for the first time in history

• Sensex crossed 80000 points like never before. The Nifty is also at an all-time high. As of 9:15 am, the BSE was up 0.72% at 80,013.77 and the Nifty was up 0.7% at 24,291. 75 is worth it.
• The Nifty also rose on the back of HDFC Bank shares. Shares of public sector and private sector banks and financial institutions also rose.

India-Mongolia joint military exercise Nomadic Elephant begins in Meghalaya

• The 16th edition of the India-Mongolia joint military exercise Nomadic Elephant began today (03.07.2024) at the Foreign Training Terminal in Umroi, Meghalaya. This exercise will be conducted till 16th July 2024.
• The 45-member Indian contingent includes a unit of the Sikkim Scout Movement and members of other armed forces. On behalf of the Mongolian Army, 150 soldiers from the country's Rapid Action Force have participated. Nomadic Elephant Training is an annual training event held alternately in India and Mongolia. The exercise was last held in July 2023 in Mongolia.
• This year, the opening ceremony of the exercise was attended by the Mongolian Ambassador to India, Mr. Tambajavin Gunbold, and Major General Prasanna Joshi, Commanding Officer of the 51 Sub-Area of the Indian Army.
• Counter-terrorist operations, use of drones for search operations are major features of this year's exercise.

India has developed the world's most powerful new bomb

• Economic Explosives Limited of Nagpur, Maharashtra has developed a new explosive called Sepex 2 after years of research. It is one of the most powerful bombs in the world. 2.01 times more damage than a TNT bomb.
• This type of bomb can be used in all types of missiles of India including BrahMos missile. Attacks can be carried out from artillery, warplanes, warships and submarines. A Sepex 2 bomb produces 20% more heat than a TNT bomb. 35 times the diameter of the bomb when it explodes. Sepex 2 is 28% more effective than TNT bomb.

Senior IPS officer TV Ravichandran has been appointed as Deputy National Security Adviser

• Ajit Doval was re-appointed as the National Security Adviser after the BJP led NDA government after the Lok Sabha elections. Deputy National Security Adviser and Additional Adviser have been appointed in this position.
• TV Ravichandran, Special Director of Central Intelligence and a senior IPS officer who passed out in 1990 Tamil Nadu batch, has been appointed as Deputy National Security Adviser.
