The site Swati ('SWATI') was launched in New Delhi
- Prof. Ajay Kumar Chute, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India launched the "Science-Technology and Innovation for Women (SWATI)" platform. It aims to encourage Indian women and girls in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine courses known as STEM (STEMM).
- Provisional figures of direct tax collections continue to register steady growth. Direct tax collection till February 10, 2024 is Rs.18.38 lakh crore. This is 17.30 percent higher than the total collection of the same period last year.
- Net direct tax revenue after refund is Rs. 15.60 lakh crore. This is 20.25 percent higher than the net collection of the same period last year. This is 80.23 per cent of the total revised estimates of direct taxes for the financial year 2023-24.
- The total revenue collection of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Personal Income Tax (PIT) has also shown steady growth. The growth rate of CIT was 9.16 percent, BIT only 25.67 percent and BIT including STD 25.93 percent.
- After adjusting for refunds, the net growth in CIT collections is 13.57 percent. BID collection grew by 26.91 percent and BID including STD grew by 27.17 percent. From 1 April 2023 to 10 February 2024 Rs. 2.77 lakh crore has been given as refund.
- Jordan, who advanced to the finals of the Asian Cup football series for the first time, clashed with Qatar. In the first half of the exciting match, the Qatar team scored a goal and took the lead. Jordan's Tasbah Al-Inamat scored the first goal in the second half that followed.
