Tamilnadu Government order giving administrative approval to Animal Feed Factory
  • A fodder manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 300 metric tons per day will be set up at Phetakkudi in Cuddalore district. An animal feed manufacturing plant has been approved to be set up with NABARD project loan at a total project cost of Rs.33.00 crore.
  • On 24.11.2023, the Government has issued an order on 24.11.2023 giving administrative approval to set up a factory for the production of animal feed with a production capacity of 300 metric tons per day at Phetakkudi, Cuddalore district with a total project estimate of Rs.33.00 crore with the loan assistance of NABARD scheme.
  • The objective of the scheme is to provide optimum quality fodder to milk producers in Cuddalore, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Trichy, Salem, Kanchipuram Thiruvallur, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai Unions and other Unions and to ensure uninterrupted supply of balanced fodder to district unions and increase milk production by providing quality fodder. The project also aims to reduce carbon footprint by using energy efficient green technology.
Supreme Court verdict in the case against Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit
  • The Aam Aadmi Party-led state government filed a case in the Supreme Court against Governor Banwarilal Purohit for refusing to assent to bills passed in the Punjab Assembly.
  • A bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justices Parthiwala and Manoj Mishra heard this petition and said that the Governor has no legal authority to question the validity of the Punjab Assembly sessions held on June 19, 20 and October 20, November 10- Ordered on
  • Its 27-page detailed order was uploaded on the Supreme Court website on Thursday night. It said, 'Any attempt to cast doubt on the proceedings of the Assembly is a threat to democracy. The Speaker, recognized by the Constitution as the custodian of the Privileges of the Assembly, acted well within his jurisdiction in adjourning the Assembly.
  • The governor is vested with certain constitutional powers as the conservatorship head which is not taken by the people of the state. However, the judges said that the Governor should not use those powers to suppress the legislative authorization of the state legislatures.
17th Indo-Nepal Joint Military Exercise Suriya Kiran 2023 started at Pithoragarh
  • A 334-member Nepali army contingent has arrived in India to participate in the Surya Kiran Joint Military Exercise. The rehearsal will be held from November 24 to December 7 at Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. It is an annual event that is held alternately in both countries.
  • The 354-strong Indian Army unit operates under the command of a battalion belonging to the Kumaon Regiment. The Tara Dal Battalion represents the Nepal Army unit.
  • The objective of the exercise is to enhance mutual assistance in jungle warfare, counter-terrorism operations in mountainous areas and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief under the United Nations Charter for Peacekeeping Operations.
  • The training will focus on the use of drones and anti-drone operations, medical training, aviation aspects and environmental protection. Through these activities, troops will improve their operational capabilities. They will improve their combat skills and strengthen their coordination in challenging situations.
  • The exercise provides a platform for soldiers from India and Nepal to exchange ideas and experiences. This will enable us to share best practices and develop a deeper understanding of each other's operational practices.

It demonstrates the unwavering commitment of both countries towards broader security cooperation. Memorandum of Understanding on Sharing of Resources between National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics Control and National Academy of Direct Taxes
  • An MoU was signed today (24.11.2023) between National Customs, Indirect Taxes, Narcotics Prevention Academy and National Direct Taxes Academy to share resources like best practices, innovative technologies.
  • The MoU was signed by Mr. Jayant Didi, Principal Director, National Academy of Direct Taxes and Mr. KN Raghavan, Director, National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics Control.
  • The agreement will lead to knowledge sharing, sharing of resources and joint cooperation in various fields such as taxation, legal practices, commercial practice laws, economic and administrative law, data analytics, risk management etc.
