Development of Kuronoku Houses - Chief Minister M.K. One-man committee report submission to Stalin
- On February 6, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin announced that a high-level committee headed by a retired judge of the Madras High Court will be formed to improve the operations and management of youth justice homes, special homes and shelters under the Juvenile Justice System.
- In order to implement the notification, on April 11 last, the government appointed a one-man committee under the chairmanship of Madras High Court retired Justice Sanduru to improve the operations and management capabilities of the youth justice centers, special homes and shelters.
- Accordingly, a one-man committee headed by Chanduru took charge from May 2 last and public feedback was sought to improve the functioning and management capabilities of observation homes, special homes and shelters.
- Apart from this, the said one-man team directly inspected all the observation homes, special homes and shelters functioning in the state.
- In this regard, a one-man committee headed by retired Justice Sanduru prepared a comprehensive report based on the feedback received from the public and the Justice's study and submitted it to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin today.
- The National Bureau of Statistics of the Union Ministry of Statistics and Planning has released the All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) based on 2012=100 and Rural, Urban and Composite Consumer Food Price Index for the month of October of the current year. All-India and sub-group and group-wise consumer price indices for all states, union territories are also published.
- Price details are collected through personal visits by field workers of Field Operations Unit of NSO, MOSBI on weekly lists from selected 1114 urban markets and 1181 villages covering all States / Union Territories.
- In the current month of October, NSO has received prices from 99.8% rural and 98.6% urban markets. The reported market wise rates are 89.0% for rural and 92.0% for urban.
- The All India Total Price Index, number-based annual inflation rate in October 2023 is (-) 0.52% (provisional) lower than in October 2022. It was reported lower by (-) 0.26% in September 2023.
- The negative rate of inflation in October 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year was mainly due to lower prices of chemicals and chemical products, electricity, textiles, base metals, food products, paper and paper products.
