The 1038th sadaya festival of Rajarajacholan began
- The 1038th Sadaya festival of Rajarajacholan started with a bang. The Sadaya ceremony started with Mangala music and Thirugara Arangam in Tamil style at the Thanjavur Periya Temple. In honor of the fame of Rajarajacholan, a panel discussion and a seminar are held.
- A deep depression formed over the central West Bay of Bengal has strengthened into a storm today. Named as Hamoon, the storm moved north-east at a distance of 400 km from Paradeep in Odisha and 550 km from Thika in West Bengal and in the south-west direction, causing rainfall in many places in Odisha.
- It has been reported that coastal districts such as Keonjhar, Mayur Panch, Ankul, Kandamal, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Malkangiri have received excessive rainfall. The India Meteorological Department said that the storm will develop into a deep depression and cross the coast between Kebupara and Chittagong in Bangladesh on October 25.
