உலக பருத்தி தினம் 2023 / WORLD COTTON DAY 2023: உலக வர்த்தக அமைப்பு (WTO) காட்டன்-4 (பெனின், புர்கினா பாசோ, சாட் மற்றும் மாலி) கோரிக்கையின் பேரில், அக்டோபர் 7 ஐ ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையால் உலக பருத்தி தினமாக அங்கீகரிப்பதற்கான அதிகாரப்பூர்வ விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கொண்டாடுவதற்காக இந்த நிகழ்வை நடத்துகிறது.

UN பொதுச் சபைக்கு பருத்தி-4 நாடுகள் முறையான முறையீட்டிற்கு பதிலளிக்கும் விதமாக, WTO செயலகம் அக்டோபர் 7, 2019 அன்று சர்வதேச பருத்தி ஆலோசனைக் குழு, UNCTAD, FAO மற்றும் ITC ஆகியவற்றின் செயலகங்களுடன் இணைந்து முதல் உலக பருத்தி தின நிகழ்வை நடத்தியது.

உலக பருத்தி தினம் 2023 / WORLD COTTON DAY 2023: உலக பருத்தி தினம் 2023 தீம் "பருத்தியை நியாயமானதாகவும், பண்ணை முதல் ஃபேஷன் வரை அனைவருக்கும் நிலையானதாகவும் மாற்றுதல்" என்பதாகும்.
WCD 2023 மூலம், பங்குதாரர்களை ஒன்றிணைத்து, பருத்தித் துறையின் தெரிவுநிலை மற்றும் பொருளாதார மாற்றம், விவசாயம் மற்றும் மதிப்பு சங்கிலி மேம்பாடு, சர்வதேச வர்த்தகம் மற்றும் வறுமை ஒழிப்பு ஆகியவற்றில் அது வகிக்கும் முக்கிய பங்கு பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளோம்.

WORLD COTTON DAY 2023: The World Trade Organisation (WTO) is hosting the event at the request of Cotton-4 (Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mali) to celebrate their official application for recognition of October 7 as World Cotton Day by the United Nations.
The World Trade Organisation (WTO) is organizing World Cotton Day event in collaboration with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC).
Objective
WORLD COTTON DAY 2023: To give exposure and recognition to cotton and all its stakeholders in production, transformation and trade,
To engage donors and beneficiaries and strengthen development assistance for cotton,
To seek new collaborations with the private sector and investors for the cotton related industries and production in developing countries and promote technological advances, as well as further research and development on cotton.
World Cotton Day History
WORLD COTTON DAY 2023: To meet the goal of developing and promoting cotton cultivation, the World Trade Organisation, The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and the International Trade Center undertook an initiative on cotton by-products.
In response to a formal appeal by the Cotton-4 countries to the UN General Assembly, the WTO Secretariat on October 7, 2019 in collaboration with the Secretariats of the International Cotton Advisory Committee, UNCTAD, FAO and ITC hosted the first World Cotton Day event in Geneva.
World Cotton Day 2023 Theme
WORLD COTTON DAY 2023: World Cotton Day 2023 Theme is “Making cotton fair and sustainable for all, from farm to fashion”.
Through WCD 2023, we aim to bring stakeholders together, raise visibility of the cotton sector and awareness of the critical role that it plays in economic transformation, agricultural and value chain development, international trade and poverty alleviation.
The observance also aims to highlight the importance of sustained economic growth, inclusive and sustainable industrial development, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
