1.65 lakh crore GST collection in July
- For the fifth time since the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the monthly GST collection has crossed Rs 1.60 lakh crore. Last July, the total GST revenue was Rs 1,65,105 crore. The GST revenue for July this year is 11 percent higher than the GST revenue for July 2022. 1.49 lakh crore in July 2022.
- Of the Rs 1.65 lakh crore collected this July, Union GST is Rs 29,773 crore, State GST is Rs 37,623 crore and Integrated GST is Rs 85,930 crore. In the integrated GST, Rs 41,239 crore was collected from import of goods and Rs 11,779 crore was collected as cess tax including Rs 840 crore from import of goods.
- Union Minister of State for Home Nithyanand Roy introduced the Birth and Death Registration Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha. The Registration of Births and Deaths Act has not been amended even once in the last 54 years since its enactment. With the current changes in society and changing technological advancements, the public needs these amendments.
- For this, revisions have been made in consultation with the public and state governments. According to this bill, the birth certificate can be used as the only document for the place and date of birth for enrollment in schools, colleges, driving license, passport, joining government jobs etc.
- According to this amendment, various departments of central and state governments can use this birth and death data for service programs. can The government can use it for population registration, voter list, Aadhaar number, ration card, etc.
- Also, the bill simplifies the process of registering birth certificates of adopted children, orphaned children, and children placed in foster care. Also, the amendment makes it mandatory for all hospitals to issue the death certificate to the registrar. The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Pune. There he inaugurated development projects worth Rs.15,000 crore and metro rail services. Similarly, he participated in a function organized by the Tilak Smarak Mandir Foundation, formed by the family of Lokmanya Tilak.
- This foundation was started in the year 1983. On the occasion of the 103rd birth anniversary of Balakangathara Tilak, the Prime Minister was conferred the Lokamanya Tilak Award.
