2nd position for India in Junior Shooting
- India's Kamaljeet scored 544 points and won the gold medal in the men's 50m pistol category on the last day of the Junior World Shooting Championship in Changwon, Korea. Veniamin Nikitin of Uzbekistan bagged the silver medal with 542 points and Kim Tamin of Korea bagged the bronze medal with 541 points.
- In the men's 50m pistol team event, the Indian team consisting of Kamaljeet, Ankait Tomar and Sandeep Bishnoi won the gold medal by scoring 1,617 points.
- The Uzbeks took the silver medal with 1,613 points, while the Korea team took the bronze medal with 1,600 points. In the women's 50m pistol category, India's Tiana won the silver medal with 519 points.
- The Indian team finished the series with 17 medals including 6 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze and finished 2nd. China finished first with 28 medals, including 12 gold.
- The central government has announced that the interest rate for the provident fund for the year 2022-23 will be 8.15 percent.
- Following the central government's order, the Employees' Provident Fund Authority (EPFO) has instructed all its offices to raise the interest rate for the provident fund of its more than 6 crore subscribers to 8.15 percent for the year 2022-23.
- The announcement comes after the finance ministry approved the interest rate in early March this year. Following this, the EPFO offices will initiate the process of crediting the optimized interest rate in the accounts of the subscribers.
- It is noteworthy that in March 2022, the interest rate for the deposit fund for the year 2021-22 was reduced to 8.10 percent from 8.50 percent in the previous year 2020-21.
