Amit Aggarwal appointed as CEO of UDAI, Subodh Kumar appointed as Director of National Examinations Agency
  • Amit Agarwal has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Udai and Suboth Kumar Singh as the Director General of the National Selection Agency.
  • Both of them belong to Chhattisgarh state officers category. Presently, Agarwal, who passed the 1993 batch, is working as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Similarly, Singh, a 1997 batch passer, is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Food and Public Distribution under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution. 
  • Singh's post has been replaced by Richa Sharma, who is currently Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. Rashmi Chaudhary, Additional Secretary, Union Personnel and Training Department, has been appointed as Secretary, Union Information Commission.
Asian Development Bank, India sign 130 million loan agreement to promote horticulture in Himachal Pradesh
  • The Central Government and Asian Development Bank have signed a 130 million loan agreement to increase agricultural productivity, improve irrigation facilities and encourage horticultural agribusiness to increase the income of farmers in Himachal Pradesh.
  • The agreement was signed by Mr. Rajat Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, on behalf of the Central Government, and Mr. Takeko Konishi, Director, India, on behalf of the Asian Development Bank.
Instead of the normal monthly disbursement of Rs.59,140 crore, the 3rd installment of tax disbursement to the State Governments is Rs. 1,18,280 crore has been released by the Central Government
  • 59,140 crore as 3rd tranche of tax distribution to state governments instead of normal monthly allocation of Rs.59,140 crore. Rs. 1,18,280 crore has been released by the Central Government on 12 June 2023.
  • An additional tranche has been released to states in addition to the normal tranche balance of June 2023 to enable states to accelerate their capital expenditure, fund development and expenditure, and make available funding for priority projects.
  • According to this, Rs.4825 crore has been released to Tamil Nadu in June 2023 from central taxes and levies.
