Gaganyaan L-110 Vikash engine test success for sending astronauts to space
  • Russia, USA and China are the only 3 countries that have sent humans into space. India is making serious efforts to achieve this feat. According to this, in 2007, the project to send humans to space was started with a budget of Rs.10,000 crore. In 2014, the project was named Gaganyan and researches are being intensified. ISRO's latest LVM-3 rocket is planned to be used for the Gaganyaan project.
  • Spacecraft to house the astronauts, spacesuits and parachutes to safely land the astronauts back on Earth after space travel are being elaborately prepared. An unmanned test spacecraft is going to be sent into space in the middle of 2024.
  • ISRO has prepared a female robot named 'Vyoma Mitra' to be sent on this spacecraft. This robot will probe in space and send information to ISRO. The L-110 Vikash engine test of Kaganyan rocket project was held at Mahendragiri Space Research Center near Kavalkinaru in Nellai district. 
  • It was successfully tested in the presence of ISRO Chairman Somnath, ISRO Campus Director Asir Pakhyaraj and ISRO technical personnel. The test run, which lasted for 240 seconds, was declared a success as planned.

61.9 lakh foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) to India by 2022
  • 1.93 crore foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) to India in 2019 before the corona pandemic. According to the latest data from the Bureau of Immigration, India is expected to receive 61.9 lakh foreign tourists in 2022. Last year 2021 this number was 15.2 lakh.

  • Foreign exchange earned through tourism in 2022 - Rs. 1,34,543 crore
