CM Stalin inaugurated 84 modern paddy storage sites across Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs 93 crore
- Paddy bells produced by the hard work of farmers are procured through government direct paddy procurement stations. In order to store them safely from natural calamities like rain and flood, rice storage platforms with a total capacity of 2.86 lakh tonnes at 18 places in 10 districts have been ordered to be constructed at a cost of Rs 238.07 crore and the work is in progress.
- Currently, in the 2nd phase, 84 modern paddy storage facilities with a roof structure with a capacity of 1.17 lakh tonnes have been completed in Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Trichy, Ariyalur, Pudukottai, Madurai, Sivagangai and Tiruvallur districts at a cost of Rs.93.03 crore. Apart from this, a taluk processing warehouse with a capacity of 750 tons has been constructed at a cost of Rs.2 crore at Pudukkadu village of Kodaikanal taluk of Dindigul district
- Chief Minister Stalin inaugurated these through video at a program held yesterday at the Chief Secretariat, Chennai.
- Paddy Procurement Stations: 20 in Thanjavur, 10 in Thiruvarur, 14 in Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai, 14 in Dindigul, 6 in Pudukottai and Tirunelveli, 6 in Cuddalore, 2 in Cuddalore, 2 in Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu in Thanjavur to store 250 tonnes of paddy each. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of 63 direct paddy procurement stations at a cost of Rs 39.37 crore.

- Earlier, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Kochi 'Water Metro' service. People living in and around Kochi will benefit from this scheme. It is also expected to attract a lot of tourists. The Kochi 'Water Metro' project is set to connect 10 islands around the port city.
- Using this service, commuters can travel from Vipin to the High Court in 20 minutes. Kakkanadu area can be reached in 25 minutes from Vittila. The Kochi 'Water Metro' project has been launched with an investment of Rs 1,137 crore.
- PM Modi visited Dadar Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, where he inaugurated a new hospital built at a cost of Rs 203 crore in Silvassa Nagar. He, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by the residents with mobile phone lights.
