Prime Minister Modi announced the theme of G20 - One Earth, One Family, One Future
- The G-20 organization was launched in 1999. It includes the United States, Russia, European Union, England, Germany, France, Japan, China, India, Canada, Turkey, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Mexico, Italy, Indonesia, Brazil, Australia, and Argentina.
- The organization is currently chaired by Indonesia. India will assume the presidency of the G20 on December 1. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the logo ('logo'), theme and website for the G-20 leadership through a video.
- India will assume the presidency of the G20 next December. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the theme 'One Earth, One Family, One Future' and the lotus logo.
- Thousands of people sent innovative designs to the government for the G-20 logo. From this, the symbol of the earth resting on a lotus flower was finalized.
- The lotus represents India's tradition, belief, and thought that 'the world is one family'. The lotus symbol represents the Buddha's teaching that the world should be freed from war and the principle of non-violence of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Its 7 petals represent 7 continents and 7 musics. It signifies the unification of the world.
Announcement of new sanctuary in Tamil Nadu
- In the last one year, Government of Tamil Nadu has announced Ushveli Bird Sanctuary, Nanjarayan Bird Sanctuary, Kadavur Devangu Sanctuary, Sea Sponge Sanctuary etc. Following this, the Tamil Nadu government declared 686.405 square km of reserve forests in Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts as Cauvery South Wildlife Sanctuary.
- It is an important southern elephant habitat and an important habitat for wildlife in the Cauvery river basin. The new sanctuary is home to 35 species of mammals, 238 species of birds, more than 103 species of trees and is a biodiverse area.
- The Cauvery river basin is home to endangered species such as Deccan Mahaneer fish, Humpbacked Mahaneer fish, thin-shelled turtles, mountain squirrels, water dogs, crocodiles and four-horned deer.
Tamil Nadu Fourth Generation Industry Development (Industry 4.0)
- These centers of excellence for advanced manufacturing will go a long way in preparing us for the technological advancements related to the fourth generation industry development (Industry 4.0).
- In particular, the Chief Minister expressed hope that micro, small and medium enterprises would make use of these centers of excellence and see progress very soon. Tidco has set up efficient centers for such advanced manufacturing in collaboration with multinationals such as Siemens and GE Aviation.
- These centers of excellence are equipped with modern and emerging technologies. It is noted in the Chief Minister's speech that this efficiency center located at Tidal Park, which was jointly developed by Tidco and Siemens at a cost of 251 crore 54 lakh rupees, is the first such efficiency center in the country.
- Another highlight is that these skill centers provide virtual training to workers and entrepreneurs.
- This Center of Excellence will work in harmony with the objectives and vision of the "I am First" programme.
- TIDCO and GE Aviation have jointly developed TAMCOE, a world-class Additive Manufacturing Center in 3D printing technology with an investment of Rs 141 crore. The Chief Minister mentioned that it has always been the leading state.
- While the unemployment rate had fallen sharply in the previous month, it returned to its previous level in October. It had fallen to a four-year low of 6.43 percent last September. In this case, it has risen again in the month of October.
- Rural unemployment rose to 8.04 percent in October from 5.84 percent in September. Meanwhile, urban unemployment has increased to 7.7 percent from 7.21 percent.
- Harvesting is also a reason for the decline in employment in rural areas. All kharif crops have been harvested between September and mid-October, the beginning of the current rainy season.
- As a result, rural employment, which had been low, started to pick up slightly with the start of sowing of monsoon crops in November. In other words, rural unemployment has come down to 6.41 percent from 7.91 percent in October.
Asian Women's Under-20 Rugby Sevens Championship 2022
- Indian women won silver medal in Asian Rugby Sevens Championship for Women U-20 held in Uzbekistan. In the final match, India lost to the United Arab Emirates by 0-31. In the men's category, the Indian team finished 4th after losing to Malaysia by 12-26 in the bronze medal round.
The Ministry of New and Non-Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Electricity are hosting an international conference in Egypt titled "Citizen-Centric Energy Transition: Empowering Citizens through Mission Life"
- Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), Indian Solar Energy Corporation (IRETA) organized an international conference titled “Citizen-Centric Energy Transition: Empowering Citizens through Mission Life (Eco-friendly Lifestyles)” at the Indian Forum of COP-27 in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt. The Ministry of New and Non-Renewable Energy and Ministry of Power of the Union Government along with SECI), Energy, Environment and Water Council.
- The special event was presided over by Mr. Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of New and Non-Renewable Energy.
- While Mission Life's behaviors include enabling markets and influencing policy, the event showcases some of the visionary, citizen-centered, energy access, transition, security, and justice initiatives that have improved the lives of millions of people.
- The conference discusses ways to accelerate energy efficiency and low-carbon technologies and market investments to facilitate and strengthen the global energy transition.
- The session was attended by Dr. Gauri Singh, Deputy Director General of IRENA, Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General of the International Solar Alliance Alliance and senior executives from Indian industry.
