Opening of Country's First Pedestrian Walkway at Marina
- Municipal Administration Minister K.N. Nehru, People's Welfare Minister M. Subramanian, Hindu Religious Charities Minister P.K. inaugurated a permanent wooden walkway at the Marina Beach under Chennai Corporation under the Singara Chennai 2.0 project to enable disabled people to enjoy the ocean waves. Sekhababu, Chepakkam Thiruvallikeni Legislative Assembly member Udayanidhi Stalin inaugurated on Sunday.
- In this year's Legislative Assembly grant request, it was announced that a separate path for the differently abled will be constructed permanently at Marina Beach. Based on that, the pavement was made with eco-friendly wooden planks. The track is 263 m long and 3 m wide.
- In this, a section of 11 meters long and 6 meters wide with a ramp facility has been placed for the disabled to stand in between. In order to see the ocean waves, the path is 22 meters long and 5 meters wide along the beach with a ramp.
- Toilet facilities are available for the use of disabled persons and container facilities are provided for the use of wheelchairs.
- The final of IPL Season 15 (2022, May 29) was held at the world's largest Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Modi Maidan has the facility to seat 1,10,00 people to watch the match. This is more than Australia's Melbourne Cricket Ground (1,00,024). 1,01,566 people came to watch the IPL final.
- With this, Modi Maidan got a place in the 'Guinness' Book of World Records for maximum attendance of fans. The certificate for this was given to Jai Shah, Secretary of the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI).
- Joint exercise “Astra Hind 22” between Indian and Australian Army is scheduled to be held in Rajasthan from November 28, 2022 to December 11, 2022. This is the first exercise in which all forces of the two armies will participate.
- A group of soldiers from the 13th Squadron of the Australian Army's 2nd Division have arrived at the training site. The Dogra Force of the Indian Army is to participate in this exercise. The Astra Hind training is held annually alternately in Australia and India.
- The objective of the exercise is to build positive military relations, adopt best practices and promote teamwork. The joint exercise will provide an opportunity for the two armies to share strategies, technologies and procedures.
- The exercise will promote understanding and interoperability between the two militaries and further strengthen India-Australia relations.
