Famous 'Mangar Dham' declared as national monument in Rajasthan
- During the British rule in the country, a large number of tribals lived in the hilly region of Mangar in Rajasthan's Banswara district. This region is currently in the border region of Gujarat - Rajasthan states. The tribes living here fought valiantly against the British rule.
- On November 17, 1913, more than 1,500 tribals were killed in a brutal attack by the British rulers. At this place, a memorial named Mangar Dham has been erected. In this case, a program was organized in Banswara area to commemorate this historical incident.
- Prime Minister Modi has declared Mangar Dham, a memorial to the tribal community killed during the British rule in Rajasthan, as a national monument.
- Prime Minister Modi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Khelat, neighboring states Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and others participated in the event.
GST revenue in October was Rs 1.51 lakh crore
- The GST tax revenue for the last month of October is Rs.1 lakh 51 thousand 718 crore. In this, the GST revenue of the Union Government is Rs.26,039 crore, the GST revenue of the State Governments is Rs.33,396 crore, the combined GST revenue of the Union and State Governments is Rs.81,778 crore, and the Cess tax revenue is Rs.10,505 crore. This makes October the 2nd highest revenue GST collection month after April 2022.
- Also, this is the 2nd time that GST revenue has been collected over Rs.1.50 lakh crore. After April 2022, October 2022 is the highest earning month for domestic remittance as well.
- So far, for the 9th consecutive month, the GST collection has been over Rs.1.4 lakh crore. Maharashtra topped the list of states collecting the highest taxes in October. Rs.9,540 crore has been collected in Tamil Nadu and Rs.204 crore in Puducherry.
- In India, rupees are currently exchanged through notes and small coins. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced in the last budget that a digital currency will soon be introduced instead.
- Accordingly, the RBI has floated the digital currency on an experimental basis. In the first phase, the currency will be used only in the sale of government equity securities.
- To handle this, 9 banks namely State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, HDFC, ICICI, Kotak Mahindra, Yes Bank, IDFC First Bank, HSBC have been given permission.
- A total of 59 transactions took place through these banks. Through this, digital currency worth Rs.275 crore was exchanged.
