75th Anniversary of Russia-India Diplomatic Relations
- A round table discussion was held on behalf of the Russian Embassy at the Russian Cultural Center in Chennai on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Russia-India diplomatic relations.
- Also present were Oleg Avdev, Russian Consular Adviser to South India, Venkatachalam Murugan, Branch Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs of India, Lakshminarayanan, Founder, Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Sivadanu Pillai, Father of BrahMos Missile, and Treasurer of Dravida Kazhagam.
- Six submarines are scheduled to join the Navy under Calvary Type Submarine Project 75. A fourth submarine was added to the Navy in 2020 under this project.
- Tests of the fifth submarine began last February. In the meantime, the sixth ship, the INS Wakshir, was introduced to the Navy. The submarine was built by the US state-owned shipbuilder Masakan Dock.
- Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar inaugurated and introduced the INS Wakshir. This ship will be subjected to extensive and rigorous testing for over a year to ensure that it is fully qualified for combat.
- The first Wakshir submarine was added to the Navy in 1974. He was later released from the Navy in 1997. Waxshir is the latest modernization of its previous variant.
- India has successfully tested two BrahMos missiles fired simultaneously from a warplane and a warship at the same target. The BrahMos missile was fired from an Indian Air Force Sakoi aircraft while it was in flight.
- The Air Force claimed that the missile hit a useless ship at sea. At the same time, the Indian Navy announced that another BrahMos missile fired from the warship had hit the ship with precision.
- The Indian Air Force and Navy have stated that it is difficult to intercept and destroy these missiles traveling at speeds of up to 3000 km / h.
- Attending a meeting of the Tribal People's Congress in Dahod, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs 22,000 crore. He inaugurated the Rs 840 crore Southern Regional Drinking Water Supply Project in Dahod district, which is being built on the banks of the Narmada River.
- The Prime Minister also inaugurated five projects worth Rs 335 crore for the city of Dahot Bolivar. Under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme, 10,000 houses worth Rs 120 crore were provided to tribals in Panchmahal and Dahod districts.
- The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the production of 9,000 horsepower electric engines in the Dahode manufacturing division. The cost of the project is Rs 20,000 crore.
- The scheme will provide direct and indirect employment to 10,000 people. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for state government projects worth Rs 550 crore.
- Union Ministers Mr. Aswini Vaishnav, Mrs. Darshana Jardosh, Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Bhupendra Boy Patel and Ministers of State of Gujarat were also present on the occasion.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Mauritius Mr. Pravind Kumar Jugnath and the Director General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tetros Caprices.
- Union Ministers Dr. Mansuk Mandavia, Mr. Sarpanch Sonowal, Mr. Munchappara Mahendrabai and Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Bhupendra Boy Patel were also present at the conference.
