National Mineral Resources Development Corporation (NMDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Karachi to explore for mineral resources by drone
  • The Mineral Resources Development Corporation, the largest iron ore producer in the country, supplies mineral resources by drone. Kharagpur has signed a memorandum of understanding with IIT to find out.
  • The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) is also involved in various mineral resources in Madhya Pradesh and diamonds at Beloda-Belmundi in Chhattisgarh.
National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) makes history by producing 40 million tonnes of iron ore
  • The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), a public sector undertaking under the Union Ministry of Steel, has become the first company in the country to produce more than 40 million tonnes of iron ore a year.
  • It has grown from 4 million tonnes per annum in the 1960s to 40 million tonnes today. As domestic demand for iron ore continues to rise, NMDC is also expanding its ambitious plans to increase production.
  • Recently NMDC has been developing a digital framework that follows the latest technology.

  • The Government of Tamil Nadu has issued an order to set up a "Chief Minister's Green Innovation Program" in 38 districts in Tamil Nadu.
  • The government has released a plan to devise simple technologies to protect nature and reduce the impact of climate change. It is said that the Tamil Nadu government has taken such a step to attract the youth in environmental related activities.
Indian Oil Corporation agrees to buy crude oil from Russia at concessional prices
  • India imports 80 per cent of its oil demand. It imports from Russia at a rate of 2 to 3 percent.
  • India has been planning to import more oil from Russia as Russia has announced a concessional price for crude oil.
  • In this situation, Indian Oil Corporation has entered into an agreement with a Russian company.
  • Indian Oil Corporation has already purchased 3 million barrels of crude oil from a Russian company at a concessional price.
  • In this regard, an official agreement has now been officially signed between the two companies.
14th India-Japan Summit
  • The 14th India-Japan Summit is scheduled to take place today and tomorrow. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's invitation, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida arrived in Delhi to attend the conference.
  • He was greeted enthusiastically with art performances. Arriving in Delhi, he held consultations with Prime Minister Modi at his Hyderabad residence.
  • The two leaders are expected to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
  • This was followed by the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the two countries in the areas of cyber security, capacity building, information sharing and cooperation.
  • Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has announced that 5 trillion yen will be invested in India. Following this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the India-Japan Economic Forum. The India-Japan summit will not be held in 2020 and 2021 due to corona infection.
Rs 7,000 crore project to rehabilitate 5 borders
  • The federal government is planning to prevent infiltration and terrorist activities along the borders of five countries - Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Myanmar.
  • To this end, the infrastructure will be rehabilitated at a cost of 7,000 crore rupees by 2023. The project will include new roads, bridges, watchtowers and state-of-the-art electric lighting.
