Rs. 13,020 crore sanctioned for border development
- India-Pak. The border is 3323 km in which 775 km border control line area. Similarly, Bangladesh has 4096 km. China 3488 km. Nepal 1751 km 699 km with Bhutan and Myanmar respectively. And 1643 km. India maintains borders.
- Works including erection of barrier fences at these borders, installation of lights, construction of roads, toll booths are being carried out under the Boundary Structure and Administration Plan.
- 2021 Apr for such border administration and maintenance tasks. The Union Home Ministry has approved to spend 13 thousand 20 crore rupees in the five years till March 2026.
The 16-year-old Chennai boy who knocked down the No. 1 chess player in the world
- The Earthings Masters Rapid Chess Tournament is held online. 16 players participated in this tournament. In this, young Grand Master Pragyananda from Chennai faced world champion and number one player Magnus Carlsen of Norway in the 8th round.
- In this, Pragyananda claimed the victory during the 39th move and recorded his second victory in the series. Thus Pragyananda is in 12th position with a total of 8 points.
Naval Study 2022
- The "Naval Exploration 2022" event was held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It deployed 63 warships, submarines and 50 aircraft of the Indian Navy. About 10,000 soldiers proclaimed the strength of the Navy.
- President Ramnath Govind was also present on the occasion. INS Sumitra, who went aboard the ship and visited the parade, was honored with 21 rounds of ammunition.
India-France agreement to strengthen blue economic cooperation
- Foreign Minister S. Jayasinghe is on a three-day visit to France, a European country. He met with Foreign Minister Jean-Eve Ledrian on Sunday and held bilateral talks. Signing agreement on 'EU-India Cooperation Guide to 2025' to strengthen cooperation in the blue economy, including maritime management.
- The agreement paves the way for cooperation in maritime trade, shipbuilding, fisheries, marine technology, research, marine surveillance, marine biodiversity, maritime surveillance-management, marine green tourism, inland maritime transport, and maritime policy planning.
Training of Indian and Oman troops at Jodhpur Air Force Base
- The Indian Air Force and the Royal Air Force of Oman are participating in a bilateral exercise called Eastern Bridge-VI from 21 to 25 February 2022 at the Air Force Base in Jodhpur.
- This is the sixth edition of the exercise, which will provide an opportunity to improve operational capability and mobility between the two air forces.
- The participation of the Indian Air Force and the Oman Air Force in this exercise will strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and enhance professional communication, exchange of experiences and operational knowledge.
