India's Foreign Trade - December 2021
- India's total exports (including trade and services) in December 2021 are estimated at US $ 57.87 billion. This is an increase of 23.35 per cent over the same period last year.
- The country's total imports in December 2021 are estimated at $ 72.35 billion. This is a positive growth of 33.86 per cent over the same period last year.
- India's total exports (including trade and services) from April to December 2021 are estimated at US $ 479.07 billion. This is an increase of 36.31 per cent over the same period last year.
- The country's total imports from April to December 2021 are estimated at $ 547.12 billion. This is a positive growth of 57.33% over the same period last year.
- Sri Lanka has the worst foreign exchange reserves. Thus food imports are severely affected. Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabral had recently said that talks to borrow Rs 7,300 crore from India to resolve the issue were nearing completion.
- In this situation, it has been confirmed to provide a loan of 6700 crore rupees to Sri Lanka on behalf of India. In this connection, the Indian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Gopal Bagle met Ajith Nivard.
- Ajit Nivard said the loan from India would be enough to import enough food to last a month. According to economists, India's credit crunch will double Sri Lanka's food imports at the end of December.
