Uttiramerur, Karunkuli tops the list of purity cities
- Annually, on behalf of the Purity Bharat Movement of the Central Government, the Purity Cities Rank List is selected and published. It evaluates the purity of cities, such as boroughs, municipalities, and corporations.
- At the South Indian level, cities with a population of 25 thousand are counted as 671, cities with a population of 25 - 50 thousand as 107, cities with a population of 50 thousand - 1 lakh as 58 and the list is being selected.
- Accordingly, on behalf of the Purity Bharat Movement, Chengalpattu District, Karunkuli Municipality, is ranked 25th out of 671 cities under 25 thousand population in the list of Quality Purity City for the year 2020.
