'Scotch' Foundation Award for Outstanding Service to Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan
- Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan was felicitated on behalf of the 'Scotch' Foundation at a function held in Delhi yesterday. Retired IAS Officer Tanendra Kumar and Scotch Foundation Chairman Samir Kochhar presented the award to J. Radhakrishnan.
- At a function held at the Adiparasakthi Medical College and Research Station in Melmaruvathur, Chief Minister MK Stalin's Chengalpattu District, he launched the 48 Save the Evacuation program, a free life-saving emergency treatment within the first 48 hours of an accident, to reduce the number of fatalities caused by road accidents.
- MK Stalin also released a video CD of the Save the Save program, giving passwords to representatives of 18 hospitals, marking the launch of the Save Our Life - 48 program in 609 hospitals.
- Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated and inspected the exhibition hall on the 48 Save the Life - Save Us - 48 project.
- India has successfully tested an Agni-B missile capable of carrying nuclear bombs and traveling 2,000 km across the continent. The Agni-B missile, capable of carrying nuclear warheads with a range of up to 2,000 km, was successfully tested by the AV on Abdul Kalam Island in Orissa.
- The intercontinental ballistic missile is the 6th Agni missile to be tested.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Ganga Expressway in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister PL Verma were present on the occasion.

- Defense Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the 94th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in New Delhi today on the theme 'Behind India 75'.
- He explained the government's vision to make India a hub for global defense production. He said the government's aim was to modernize the defense sector and create a strong environment for self-sufficiency in defense production to protect the country.
- The National Student Corps and the National Highways Authority of India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to construct roads across the country using plastic waste collected by the National Student Corps (NCC) for beach cleaning and other clean-up operations.
- Signed on 17 December 2021 between Lieutenant General Gurbir Pal Singh, Director General, NCC and Mr. Sushil Kumar Misra, Principal General Manager, National Highways Authority of India.
- The National Student Corps has approached IITs and NIITs to recycle and use the plastic waste collected by them profitably. Kharagpur IIT has already agreed to provide their technical advice on this. In addition, the NCC has approached charities.
- They have created awareness among the people about the harms of plastic use and the harms it causes to natural resources.
- In the last one month, 3.4 lakh NCC students have participated in 127 beach clean-up projects and collected 6 tonnes of plastic waste. About 17 lakh people have campaigned against plastic waste
