உலகளாவிய பாலின இடைவெளி அறிக்கை 2020 / Global Gender Gap Report 2020

  • உலகப் பொருளாதார அமைப்பால் வெளியிடப்பட்ட உலகளாவிய பாலின இடைவெளி அறிக்கை 2021-ன் படி, 156 நாடுகளில் (1-க்கு) 0.625 மதிப்பெண்களுடன் 140-வது இடத்தில் இந்தியா உள்ளது,
  • உலகளாவிய பாலின இடைவெளி குறியீட்டின் மதிப்பெண்களை உலகளாவிய பாலின இடைவெளி அறிக்கை வழங்குகிறது. பொருளாதார பங்கேற்பு மற்றும் வாய்ப்பு, கல்வி, ஆரோக்கியம் மற்றும் தொடர்ந்து வாழ்தல், மற்றும் அரசியல் அதிகாரம் ஆகிய நான்கு பரிமாணங்களில் ஆண்களுக்கும் பெண்களுக்கும் இடையிலான இடைவெளியை இது ஆய்வு செய்கிறது.

  • உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள நாடாளுமன்றங்களில் இருக்கும் இடங்கள் 35,127 ஆகும். அதில் வெறும் 25% மட்டுமே பெண்கள் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளனர், 3,343 அமைச்சர்களில் 21% மட்டுமே பெண்கள்.
  • இதன் காரணமாக இந்தப் பரிமாணத்தில் இந்தியாவின் மதிப்பெண் உலகிலேயே மிக உயர்ந்த ஒன்றாக இருக்க வேண்டும். இருப்பினும், நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் பெண்களின் பிரதிநிதித்துவத்தை மட்டுமே உலகப் பொருளாதார மன்றம் கணக்கில் எடுத்துக்கொள்கிறது.

  • தற்போதைய அறிக்கையின் படி நிகழ்வுகள் சென்றால் 54 ஆண்டுகளில் மேற்கு ஐரோப்பாவில் 54 ஆண்டுகளில் இந்த இடைவெளி குறைக்கப்படும். லத்தீன் அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் கரீபியன் நாடுகளில் 59 ஆண்டுகளில் இந்த இடைவெளி குறைக்கப்படும். 
  • 71.5 ஆண்டுகளில் தெற்காசியாவில் இந்த இடைவெளி குறைக்கப்படும். சஹாரா ஆப்பிரிக்க நாடுகளில் 95 ஆண்டுகளிலும், கிழக்கு ஐரோப்பா மற்றும் மத்திய ஆசியாவில் 107 ஆண்டுகளிலும், மத்திய கிழக்கு மற்றும் வட ஆப்ரிக்காவில் 140 ஆண்டுகளிலும், வட அமெரிக்காவில் 151 ஆண்டுகளிலும், கிழக்கு ஆசியா மற்றும் பசிபிக் நாடுகளில் 163 ஆண்டுகளிலும் பாலின இடைவெளி குறைக்கப்படும்.

  • According to the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report 2021, India ranks 140th out of 156 countries (with a score of 0.625). The Global Gender Gap Report provides the scores of the Global Gender Gap Index. 
  • It explores the gap between men and women in the four dimensions of economic participation and opportunity, education, health and survival, and political power.
  • Compared to last year, India's gender gap index has decreased due to the dimension of political empowerment. Representation of women in local bodies is currently 30% higher as it provides 30% reservation for women at the level of local autonomy.
  • Globally, the average distance between men and women has been reduced to 68.6%. This is an increase over the previous report. The biggest gender inequality lies in political empowerment.
  • There are 35,127 seats in parliaments around the world. Only 25% of them are women, and only 21% of the 3,343 ministers are women.
  • Due to this India’s score in this dimension should be one of the highest in the world. However, the World Economic Forum only takes into account the representation of women in parliament.
  • The Government of India has made it a top priority to reduce the gender gap in India, bridge the gap between men and women, improve the health of women, improve their socio-economic status and their participation in various fields.
  • The Government of India is taking various important initiatives to reduce the gender gap in all aspects of social, economic and political life. Iceland, Norway and Finland are in the top three. India is ranked 112th in the list of 153 days. The list is published by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
  • According to the current report this gap will be reduced to 54 years in Western Europe in 54 years if events go on. In Latin America and the Caribbean, this gap will be reduced to 59 years.
  • This gap will be reduced in 71.5 years in South Asia. The gender gap will be reduced to 95 years in Sahara Africa, 107 years in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, 140 years in the Middle East and North Africa, 151 years in North America and 163 years in East Asia and the Pacific.
