- தேசிய கணித தினம் (National Mathematics Day) இந்தியாவில், டிசம்பர் 22 ஆம் நாள் தேசிய கணித தினமாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தேசிய கணித தினம் 26 பிப்ரவரி 2012 அன்று சென்னைப் பல்கலைக்கழக நூற்றாண்டு விழாக் கலையரங்கத்தில் நடைபெற்ற சீனிவாச ராமானுசனின் 125 வது பிறந்த நாள் கொண்டாட்டத்தின் தொடக்க விழாவில் இந்தியப் பிரதம மந்திரி டாக்டர் மன்மோகன் சிங் அவர்களால் பிரகடனம் செய்யப்பட்டது.
- இந்தியக் கணித மேதை ஸ்ரீனிவாச ராமானுஜன் 1887 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் மாதம் 22 ஆம் தேதி பிறந்தார். 1920 ஏப்ரல் 26 இல் இறந்தார். இந்திய தேசிய கணிதவியலாளரான கணித மேதை சீனிவாச இராமானுசன் அவர்கள் கணிதத்துறைக்குப் பங்காற்றியமைக்காக ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் டிசம்பர் 22 ஆம் நாள் தேசிய கணித தினமாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. 2012 ஆம் ஆண்டு தேசிய கணித ஆண்டாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

- 2017 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆந்திரப் பிரதேச மாநிலம் சித்தூர் மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள குப்பம் நகரில் இராமானுசன் கணிதப் பூங்கா என்ற அருங்காட்சியகம் திறக்கப்பட்ட்தை தொடர்ந்து தேசிய கணித தினத்தின் முக்கியத்துவம் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. 1918 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ராயல் சொசைட்டியின் ஃபெல்லோவாக கௌரவிக்கப்பட்ட இரண்டாவது இந்தியர் இவர்.
- சீனிவாச ராமானுஜர் பொன்மொழிகள் - ராமானுஜரைப் பொருத்தவரை கணிதம் என்பது கடவுளுக்கு சமமானது. எனவே எல்லா கணக்கு ஈக்வேஷன்களும் கடவுளுடைய சிந்தனைகள் என்று கருதினார். "என்னைப் பொறுத்தவரை, ஒரு ஈக்வேஷன் என்பது ஒரு கடவுள் வெளிப்படுத்திய ஒரு சிந்தனை தான்" என்று கூறியுள்ளார்.
