India-Sri Lanka-Maldives joint training exercise

  • The three countries are conducting the 15th Tripartite Boeing exercise under the name 'Dosti' with the objectives of strengthening security in the Indian Ocean and enhancing mutual operational capabilities.
  • Led by the Colombo Defense Conference (CSC), the two-day exercise is aimed at strengthening the integrated efforts for maritime security, enhancing the performance of the three countries' navies and ensuring compliance with the SOP.
  • The training was first introduced as a two-way training exercise between India and the Maldives. Accordingly, this joint training exercise has been launched and is in its 30th year. Since Sri Lanka joined in 2012, it has become a tripartite exercise.
The new Prime Minister of the Czech Republic is Beta Fiala
  • Beta Fiala, the former leader of the opposition, has taken over as the new Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. The three-party coalition led by Beta Fiala won 27.8 percent of the vote in the October 8 and 9 parliamentary elections. Since then, Beta Fiala has ruled with another coalition that won 15.6 percent of the vote.
National Sniper Championship 2021
  • At the National Sniper Championships, Punjab's hero Rajvi Singh Gill won gold in the Adawa Skeet and Junior Skeet categories. The team that included Ava also topped the Junior Skeet teams division.
  • In the final round of the Adawa Skeet Division, Rajvee topped the list with 56 points, followed by Rajasthan's Ananjeet Singh Naruga with 52 points and Miraj Ahmed Khan with 45 points.
  • Meanwhile, in the men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions, Indian Navy's Kiran Ankush Jadhav won gold with 455.7 points, followed by Services' Neeraj Kumar with 455.3 points and Aishwarya Pratap Singh Thoma with 444.4 points. However, Aishwarya Pratap won gold in the Junior Adva 50m 3 Positions held later.
  • In the men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol category, Rajasthan's Bhavesh Shekhawat won gold with 33 points, while Army's Veera Gurpreet Singh won silver with 29 points and Haryana's Anish Panwala won bronze with 22 points.
  • In the Junior Rapid Fire Pistol category, Anish Panwala topped the list, followed by another Haryana hero Adash Singh and Punjab Veera Sidhu.
52nd Indian International Film Awards
  • The Japanese film 'Ring Wandering' won the Golden Peacock Award at the 52nd Indian International Film Festival. The Silver Peacock Award for Best Director went to Waglow Kadarnka, the director of 'Saving One Who Is Dead'.
  • Indian and Marathi actors Jitendra Bikulal Joshi and Nishikant Kamath won the Silver Peacock Award for Best Actor. Spanish actress Angela Molina won the Silver Peacock Award for Best Actress.
  • Dhanush won the BRICS Best Actor Award for his performance in Asuran. Marathi director Nikhil Mahajan, who directed the film 'Godavari', shared the special award with the Brazilian actress Renato.
  • Russian director Roman Vashyanov, who directed The Doram, won the special award. Director Marie Alessandrini's 'Zagori' was selected as the best film for the first time. Spanish film 'The Wealth of the World' won the Special Award.
