Chand Kabir Award
- The highest award given to weavers by the Central Government is the 'Chand Kabir' award. The 'Chand Kabir' award for 2018 has been announced for 10 people in India.
- Krishnamurthy, a weaver from Mettupalayam Street, Kanchipuram, is also named. The award was given to him for training a lot of weavers and weaving sarees with 114 designs as an alternative to regular sarees. Similarly, the National Award for the year 2019 has been announced for 20 people. 6 of them are from Kanchipuram.
- Sarala-Ganapathy couple from Kanchipuram Dharmalingam and Kamatchi-Hari couple from Pillaiyarpalayam, Ramkumari from Kanikandiswar Temple Street and Hari from Rayankuttai Pillai Street are receiving the national award separately. 6 weavers from Kanchipuram receive 4 national awards. The award was given for the best design, best techniques used in handloom and best colors.
- Moscow-Russia has developed a sophisticated 'hypersonic' missile called 'Zircon'. It was fired several times from the Navy ship for testing and hit the target accurately. This is the first test of a zircon missile from a submarine called the Chevrolet Vinsk.
- Former Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, 64, has been elected the new Prime Minister of Tokyo-Japan. An election was held to elect a new Prime Minister. Pumio Kishida won with the support of a majority of ruling and coalition MPs. Following this, a new cabinet headed by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has been formed in Japan.
- Of these, only two have been given responsibility for the 20 members of the health cabinet. Pumio Kishida is scheduled to address the Barley on the 8th.
- The Chief Minister launched the facial recognition software for police use at MK Stalin's General Secretariat. This facial recognition software is used to identify a photo of an individual by comparing it with the photo data of the person uploaded to the CCDNS at the police station.
- So far, 5.30 lakh photos have been uploaded on CCDNS. The software can be used by police officers at the police station and on mobile phones during the field work.
- The Central Government has approved full funding for the construction of new flyovers at a cost of Rs 400 crore at the Pondicherry Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi Signals. Following this, the Central Government has given its approval to the Government of Pondicherry and work is underway to prepare a map and project report.
