Paralympics 2021 completed
- India won a total of 19 medals, including 5 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze, at the Tokyo Paralympic Games yesterday. And for the first time in the history of the Paralympics, India has won more medals. Accordingly, China is at the top of the medal table with 207 medals and India is at the 24th position with 19 medals.
- 19-year-old sniper Avani Legara, who won gold and bronze medals, led the Indian team during the closing ceremony of the Games.
- Krishna Nagar (22, Jaipur) of India won the gold medal in the men's badminton singles SH6 category at the Paralympics. In the final, Nagar clashed with Hong Kong's Su Man Kei 21-17, 16-21, 21-17 in 43 minutes to take the lead.
- This is the 2nd gold for India in Para Badminton. Earlier, Pramod Bhagat had won gold in the SL3 category.
- Suhas Yatiraj (38) of India, who made his debut in the Paralympic men's badminton SL4 division final yesterday, finished second and kissed the silver medal.
- In the final, France's Lucas Masour (23) defeated Yatiraja 15-21, 21-17, 21-15 to clinch the gold medal. The lively match lasted for 1 hour and 2 minutes. Suhas Yatiraj is the District Collector of Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Uttar Pradesh.
- India will take part in a joint military exercise with 17 countries in Russia. The "Sabat" (Multi Nation Exercise "ZAPAD 2021") joint military exercise will take place in Nizhniy, Russia from September 03-16. About 200 Indian soldiers will take part in it. Most of them belong to the Naga Regiment.
