Joint Military Training of SEO Countries in Russia - India Participation

  • The joint military counter-terrorism exercise is held every two years among the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries. The 6th phase of the exercise will take place from September 13 to 25 in the Orenburg region of Russia. 
  • The purpose of the exercise is to enhance relations between the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and to strengthen the effectiveness of military commanders in leading military personnel from various countries.
  • The Indian Army said 200 soldiers, including 38 Indian Air Force personnel, were involved in the exercise on behalf of India. This exercise will enable the exchange of best training methods between the Armed Forces of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries.
