No change in bank interest rates; 9.5% GDP growth for the current year - Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikant Das predicts
- The Reserve Bank has forecast 9.5 per cent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) for the current financial year. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has announced that the bank's interest rate will remain unchanged at 4 per cent and the repo rate at 3.35 per cent.
- Consumer price inflation was 5.7 per cent in the last fiscal (2020-21). It is expected to fall to 5.1 per cent in the first quarter of the next financial year (2022-23) and the RBI will continue to take steps to do so, he said.
