Russia's zircon missile test success, 9 times faster than sound
- The Russian government is conducting missile tests to strengthen the country's security.
- President Vladimir Putin has previously said that hypersonic missiles could be the country's main security feature in the future. Accordingly, Russia, which has developed a sophisticated hypersonic missile called Zircon, has now successfully tested it.
- Russia has developed this sophisticated missile capable of going up to a thousand kilometers and destroying the target. The Zircon missile has been successfully test-fired from Admiral Gorshkov's warship stationed in the Arctic Ocean.
- The Russian military says the missile, which has a range of 350 km, has successfully hit its target. The missile is said to go 9 times faster than sound and hit the target.
Memorandum of Understanding with 33 companies
- Industry plays an important role in the development of a country or a state. The state is likely to function better as the industry grows. This means that industrial development means that as more factories are created in the state, employment for the people will also increase.
- As employment increases, so does the state's economic status. In this context, the Government of Tamil Nadu is signing Memoranda of Understanding with 33 companies to attract investment.
- The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin at an event in Chennai to create employment for 54,041 people with an investment of Rs 17,297 crore.

Discovery of 4 pots 2,500 years old
- Excavations are currently underway at 10 places in Tamil Nadu such as Mayiladuthurai, Keezhadi, Kontagai, Agaram, Gangai Konda Cholapuram, Korkai, Sivakalai, Adichanallur, Kodumanal and Manalur.
- Mayiladuthurai near Tokarappally in Krishnagiri district has been under excavations on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Archaeological Survey since last March under the direction of Deputy Director of Archeology Sivanandam.
- Director of Excavations Sakthivel said: On Mayiladuthurai Sanarappan Hill, there are signs of human habitation. Underneath the New Stone Age, there are more than 100 megalithic emblems. In the 1980s and 2003s, historians noted that they belonged to the Neolithic.
- In the last three months of study, a 70 cm, long iron sword already belonging to the Stone Age and four potsherds belonging to the Stone Age have now been found in the same area. These are thought to be 2,500 years old.
Petrol-diesel prices: Excise duty collection in a single year is Rs 3.35 lakh crore
- Excise duty on petrol has been hiked from Rs 19.98 per liter to Rs 32.90 per liter. Meanwhile, the excise duty on diesel has been increased from Rs 15.83 per liter to Rs 11.8 per liter.
- The Union Minister said that due to the rise in oil prices, excise duty collection from petrol and diesel was Rs 3.35 lakh crore from April 2020 to March 2021. This is almost double the revenue compared to the 2019-20 financial year.
- Excise duty collection on petrol and diesel in 2019-20 was Rs 1.78 lakh crore.
