Silenthrababu is taking charge as the new law and order DGP of Tamil Nadu
- Work was underway to select a new law and order DGP in Tamil Nadu. As there was fierce competition for the post of DGP, the Tamil Nadu government sent the list to the Central Personnel Selection Board.
- In this context, the Government of Tamil Nadu has announced the appointment of Silenthra Babu as the new Law and Order DGP based on the list received from UPSC.
Construction of 5th and 6th nuclear reactors at Koodankulam commenced
- Construction work on the 5th and 6th reactors with a capacity of 1,000 MW each at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Station in Tirunelveli District commenced with Bhoomipooja.
- Rs 49,621 crore reactors are scheduled to start generating electricity in 2027-28. When a total of 6 nuclear reactors are generated, 6,000 MW of electricity will be available to the country.
President lays foundation stone for Rs 45 crore Ambedkar Memorial House in Lucknow
- The Uttar Pradesh cabinet headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath last week approved the setting up of a memorial house for legislator Ambedkar in the Aishbagh area of Lucknow.
- This was followed by a groundbreaking ceremony. President Ramnath Govind, who was present as the special guest, laid the foundation stone for the Ambedkar Memorial.
- The Ambedkar Memorial House will be set up on about 5,493 square feet in Aishwarya. Rs 45.5 crore has been allocated for this. An art gallery with a seating capacity of 750 will be set up next to the memorial house.
- Apart from this, a library, a research center and a museum are also set up here. A 25-foot statue of Ambedkar will also be erected at the memorial.
Peter Alphonse as Chairman of the Minorities Commission
- The Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission was set up by the then Chief Minister Karunanidhi on December 13, 1989 to safeguard the rights and interests of the religious and linguistic minorities living in Tamil Nadu.
- The Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission has been working for the educational, social and economic development of the minorities. It is said that Stalin amended and appointed S. Peter Alphonse as its chairman.

Rs 100 crore allocation to curb Corona 3rd wave - Chief Minister MK Stalin's order
- A donation of Rs. 353 crore has been made in response to Chief Minister MK Stalin's request that all the people of Tamil Nadu lend a hand to the Tamil Nadu government's corona prevention efforts.
- Chief Minister MK Stalin has directed the government to allocate Rs 100 crore from the General Relief Fund for the purchase of liquid medical oxygen required by government hospitals for the treatment of coronavirus and to carry out precautionary measures against the third wave of the epidemic.
DCGI approves moderno vaccine in India
