இவ்விரு விஞ்ஞானிகளுக்கும், "சீர்மையற்ற கரிமத் தொகுப்பில் நேரியல் அல்லாத விளைவுகள் மற்றும் தன்னியக்க வினையூக்கத்தைக் கண்டுபிடித்ததற்காக" (for the discovery of non-linear effects and autocatalysis in asymmetric organic synthesis) இந்த உயரிய விருது வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

NOBEL PRIZE FOR CHEMISTRY 2026: The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm officially announced today that the prestigious 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry is jointly awarded to Professor Henri B. Kagan of France and scientist Kenso Soai of Japan.
These two scientists are being honored with this distinguished award for their discovery of non-linear effects and autocatalysis in asymmetric organic synthesis.
Their research has provided clear answers to a century-old mystery regarding 'chirality' (or homochirality) a property where molecules exist as mirror images of one another and the asymmetric formation of molecules. Henri Kagan systematically explained non-linear effects in asymmetric catalysis.
Similarly, through his renowned 'Soai Reaction,' Kenso Soai demonstrated to the world the mechanisms of autocatalysis and molecular amplification.
These fundamental scientific discoveries represent a major turning point, enabling the creation of precise chemical molecules free from side effects for life-saving modern medicines, and deepening our molecular understanding of the origins of life on Earth.
The Nobel Committee has announced that the award-winning duo, Henry Kagan and Kenzo Soai, will each receive a gold medal, a certificate, and an equal share of the prize money approximately 11 million Swedish kronor (roughly ₹10 crore or $1.2 million).
As is customary, the award ceremony will take place in Stockholm on December 10, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death.
