GSLV-F17 Rocket Successfully Launched
- Marking another significant milestone in India's space program, ISRO's GSLV-F17 rocket has successfully launched the EOS-05 Earth observation satellite.
- Launched early Friday morning from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, the satellite was precisely placed into the planned Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (Sub-GTO).
- EOS-05 is India's first imaging satellite designed to operate from a geostationary orbit. It will facilitate the frequent monitoring and imaging of vast areas of the Earth.
- This mission is expected to further strengthen India's satellite capabilities for various applications, including Earth observation. While this is the 17th rocket in the GSLV series, it marks the 19th mission of India's Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle program.
- Featuring an ogive-shaped composite payload fairing with a 4-meter diameter, the rocket was designed to carry the EOS-05 satellite into the Sub-GTO orbit.
