Chief Minister Vijay Hoists Flag at the Fort for the 80th Independence Day Celebration
- The country's 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm nationwide today. On behalf of the Tamil Nadu government, Chief Minister Vijay hoisted the national flag and paid his respects at the ramparts of Fort St. George in Chennai.
- As this was the first Independence Day celebration since the TVK government assumed office, the event drew significant attention from political circles and the general public.
- Earlier, Chief Minister Vijay arrived at the venue in a white car and was welcomed by the Chief Secretary and senior police officials. Police officers and dignitaries were subsequently introduced to the Chief Minister.
- He then accepted the police guard of honour and inspected the parade while standing in a decorated, open-top white jeep. After inspecting the parade, Chief Minister Vijay proceeded to the fort's ramparts and hoisted the national flag. Flowers were showered as the tricolour fluttered in the breeze.
- The police band played the national anthem, during which the Chief Minister, officers from the armed forces and police, senior government officials, and all attendees stood up to pay their respects to the national flag.
- To mark India's 80th Independence Day, the occasion was celebrated on a grand scale today with the hoisting of the national flag at the historic Red Fort in the national capital, Delhi.
- Prime Minister Modi participated in the event, hoisted the national flag, and addressed the nation. During his speech, he announced key initiatives across various sectors, including the country's future growth, technological advancement, education, and youth welfare.
- Speaking on technological progress, Prime Minister Modi stated, "The Union Government plans to provide specialized training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to 10 million (1 crore) youths across the country. Measures to implement this will be taken within the coming year."
- He further stated that free online coaching would be provided digitally to students from poor and middle-class families to help them prepare for competitive examinations, utilizing the country's best teachers.
- He announced a seven-point vision known as 'Shakti ki Saptadhara'—essential for transforming India into a developed nation by 2047. He also called upon the people of the country to unite and work towards realizing grand dreams with unwavering resolve, even amidst challenges and disasters.
