Tamil Nadu Plus-2 Exam Results Released
- The results for the Plus-2 (Class 12) public examinations, held in Tamil Nadu during the months of March and April, have been released.
- Overall, 94.56% of students have passed the Plus-2 examinations this year. It is noteworthy that this figure represents a slight increase compared to last year's results.
- In terms of district-wise pass percentages, Erode district has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the first place across the entire state. Tiruppur and Coimbatore districts have secured the subsequent positions.
- As is typically the case, a higher number of female students have passed the examinations compared to male students this year as well. The pass percentage for female students is approximately 4% higher than that of male students.
- The number of students who secured a perfect score (Centum) in subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science has increased compared to the previous year.
- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) jointly and successfully conducted a missile test—featuring an advanced device designed for offensive operations—off the coast of Odisha on May 7, 2024.
- This device, designated as 'Tara', facilitates the precise detection, engagement, and destruction of distant targets. By integrating this device into missiles that currently lack a guidance system, those missiles can be transformed into weapons possessing advanced strike capabilities.
- This marks the first instance of an indigenous weapon system being designed and developed entirely within the country.
- With the objective of enhancing the efficiency and precision of low-cost weaponry utilized for striking and destroying ground-based targets, the 'Research Centre Imarat' (RCI) in Hyderabad—in collaboration with other DRDO laboratories—has designed and developed this weapon system, known as 'Tara'.
- This is a penetrating missile system that utilizes state-of-the-art, yet cost-effective, technological systems. The development and production consortium undertook the task of creating this system in collaboration with other Indian industrial enterprises. These companies have now commenced its production.
