Rohit Jain Appointed as New Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India
- The Central Government has officially appointed Rohit Jain as the new Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Currently serving as an Executive Director at the bank, he possesses the requisite qualifications to assume this prestigious position.
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted its formal approval for this appointment and has issued a new government order to this effect. He has been selected for this pivotal role on the basis of merit, succeeding former Deputy Governor Rabi Sankar, who recently retired from service.
- Government sources have stated that his tenure is set to formally commence on or after May 3rd. It has been officially announced that this new term of office will extend for a total duration of three years.
