Siddaramaiah Resigns as Karnataka Chief Minister
- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hosted a luncheon for his cabinet ministers at his official residence, 'Cauvery'. During the gathering, he announced his decision to resign from his post to the ministers present.
- Siddaramaiah informed his cabinet colleagues that he had taken this decision in accordance with the directives of the Congress party leadership. Reports had previously emerged stating that Siddaramaiah had agreed to step down as Chief Minister during a consultative meeting held with the party leadership in Delhi last Tuesday.
