Cabinet Expansion of the Government Led by Chief Minister Vijay in Tamil Nadu
- The cabinet of the TVK government, led by Chief Minister Vijay, has been expanded in Tamil Nadu. Twenty-three new individuals have taken office as ministers.
- As previously announced, the swearing-in ceremony for the new ministers commenced at 10:00 AM at the Governor's House. Subsequently, the 23 new ministers including Srinath and Kamali took their oaths of office.
- Among them, Rajesh Kumar and Viswanathan took office as ministers representing the Congress party. Acting Governor Rajendra Arlekar administered the oath of office to the ministers. The portfolios for the new ministers have also been announced.

- Consequently, Sengottaiyan who previously served as the Minister of Finance has been reassigned from that portfolio and appointed as the Minister of Revenue. Maria Wilson now serves as the Minister of Finance.
- Following this expansion, the Vijay Cabinet will comprise four female ministers: Keerthana, Kamali, Vijayalakshmi, and Jagadeeswari.
- Within the Vijay Cabinet, seven members—Kamali, Viswanathan, Rajmohan, Lokesh Tamilselvan, Thennarasu, Gandhiraj, and Madan Raja—will hail from the Scheduled Communities.
- Having concluded the India-Nordic Summit held in Norway, as well as bilateral visits to Sweden and the Netherlands, Prime Minister Modi arrived in Italy for the final leg of his six-day European tour.
- During the meeting between the leaders of the two nations, key decisions were reached across various sectors, including defense, trade, green energy, and infrastructure.
- Following high-level talks held in Rome between Indian Prime Minister Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the bilateral relationship between the two countries has been elevated to a new level: a 'Special Strategic Partnership.'
- Italy serves as the western anchor of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC). The two nations have signed new agreements regarding maritime transport and the modernization of ports.
- The two leaders also held discussions concerning the Ukraine issue, as well as the crises in West Asia and Iran.
- Agreements were signed covering the migration of Indian nurses for employment in Italy; partnerships in higher education, research, and climate change; and cooperation in Ayurveda, agriculture, and the export of Indian marine products to Italy.
