PM Narendra Modi inaugurates development projects worth Rs 33,500 crore in Delhi
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (March 8) inaugurated development projects worth Rs 33,500 crore in Delhi and laid the foundation stone for some projects.
- Earlier in the day, PM Modi handed over house keys to women beneficiaries of a public housing scheme in Sarojini Nagar. Following this, Modi inaugurated the 12.3 km long Majlis Park-Maujpur-Babarpur (pink) Metro line and the 9.9 km long Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park (magenta) Metro line.
- The Majlis Park-Maujpur-Babarpur line will provide better connectivity to North and East Delhi areas including Burari, Jagatpur-Wazirabad, Khajuri Ghat, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar.
- Similarly, the Deepali Chowk-Majlis-Park elevated metro line will improve metro connectivity to areas including Madhuban Chowk, Uttar Bithampur-Prashant Vihar, Hyderpur Patli More, Balaswamy.
- Foundation stone for Metro expansion: Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for 3 new metro lines under the Metro Expansion Area 5-A project.
- These include Ramakrishna Ashram Marg-Indraprastha, Aerocity-Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal-1 and Tughlakabad-Kalindi Gunj. These will improve connectivity between Central Delhi, South Delhi, Noida and the airport.
