For the first time in India, a dedicated treatment center for athletes in Tamil Nadu
- At the Tamil Nadu Government Multi-Specialty Hospital in Omandurar Government Estate, Chennai, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin today (03.03.2026) inaugurated a Center of Excellence in the field of Sports Medicine and Arthroplasty at an estimated cost of Rs. 9 crore and made it available to the public.
- With this, a dedicated treatment center for athletes has been launched for the first time in any part of Tamil Nadu, be it a village or a hamlet, in a state government hospital.
- Although there are medical facilities for this in a few places in private hospitals in India, this is the first time that a treatment center has been launched here in a state hospital.
- On 17.6.2023, Chief Minister MK Stalin laid the foundation stone for the establishment of a FinTech City on 56 acres of land in Nandambakkam, Alandur taluk, Chennai district, and the construction of an international standard FinTech Tower apartment building with a built-up area of 5.56 lakh square feet in the first phase.
- This FinTech Tower building has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 249 crore with 2 basements, ground floor and 11 floors with an area of 5.56 lakh square feet, with state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities. It was inaugurated by Chief Minister MK Stalin.
- High-quality office spaces, ready with all the necessary facilities for financial and fintech companies to start their operations, have been set up in the FinTech Tower.
- The Ministry of Defence has signed a deal for procurement of 6 MK-II Advanced Light Helicopters for the Indian Coast Guard and Shettle surface-to-air missiles for the Indian Navy at a cost of Rs 5,083 crore. The deal was signed in New Delhi in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh.
- Among these, under the indigenously designed and manufactured programme, a deal for procurement of 6 MK-II Advanced Light Helicopters worth Rs 2,901 crore was signed with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bengaluru. A deal for Shettle missiles worth Rs 2,182 crore was signed with Russia’s JSC Rosatom Export.
- The India-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Framework, a trilateral agreement between India, Canada and Australia on cooperation in technology and innovation, an agreement on cooperation in key minerals, an agreement on promoting the use of renewable energy, and an agreement on cultural cooperation were signed.
- 24 agreements between universities and institutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, healthcare, agriculture, innovation, Canada's accession to the Global Biofuels Consortium and the International Solar Alliance, the establishment of a parliamentary friendship group between India and Canada, the initiation of talks on defense between India and Canada, the launch of a new Canada-India joint capacity and innovation and strategic organization through Canadian universities, and Canada's participation in the Bharat Tribal Festival - 2026 to be held in New Delhi from March 17 to 30, 2026.
