Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the Tamil Nadu Global International Tourism Summit 2026
- The "Tamil Nadu Global International Tourism Summit – 2026," jointly organized by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Department and the Department of Industries, is being held today and tomorrow for two days at the conference hall of the Four Points by Sheraton star resort located on the East Coast Road in Poonjeri, near Chennai.
- More than 2500 participants from domestic and international renowned companies, including tourism industry investors, developers, operators, hotel companies, tour operators, developers, decision-makers, partners, supporters, tourism vehicle companies, business professionals, and entrepreneurs, are participating in this summit.
- The summit was inaugurated this morning by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. To enable them to learn about various aspects of the tourism industry, investments, Tamil Nadu's traditional tourist destinations, Tamil Nadu's culture, the significant role of industries, the growth of tourism at the international level, and the initiatives undertaken by the Tamil Nadu government for tourism, the Tourism Department has granted permission for more than 900 college students from the Mamallapuram surrounding areas to participate in this two-day summit.
- Furthermore, a massive exhibition hall, 100 meters long and 50 meters wide, has been set up near the conference venue where the Global Tourism Summit is being held.
- At the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit, 127 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, securing assured investments of Rs. 22,794 crore, which will create employment opportunities for 65,937 people.

- It is seen as a major recognition for spiritual literature. The unique feature of this album is the voice of the Dalai Lama. Composer Rufus received the Grammy Award on behalf of the Dalai Lama.
