Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the new scheme 'Tell Us Your Dream'
- Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today (January 9, 2026) launched a new scheme called "Tell Us Your Dream" in Padiyanallur, Ponneri, Thiruvallur district. This scheme aims to gather public opinion on the schemes being implemented by the Tamil Nadu government, identify the future dreams and needs of the people, and understand them directly by visiting their residences.
- The Chief Minister has ordered the implementation of the "Tell Us Your Dream" scheme to verify the data and details of beneficiaries who have benefited from various government schemes implemented in the last five years, to ascertain public opinion on the current status of the schemes, and to identify the future dreams and needs of the people by visiting their residences directly.
- The "Tell Us Your Dream" scheme is a pilot initiative to meet approximately 1.91 crore families in rural and urban areas of Tamil Nadu and identify the schemes they have benefited from and their dreams, with the involvement of 50,000 volunteers. This fieldwork will be carried out through the Tamil Nadu Women's Development Corporation.
- This decision was taken at the Union Cabinet meeting on economic affairs held the day before yesterday in Delhi, chaired by Prime Minister Modi. The government has expressed confidence that this project will reduce India's dependence on imports for high-security paper.
- This paper will be manufactured at the security paper printing press in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh. Furthermore, under this scheme, it has been decided to establish a new cylinder mould watermark currency note production unit at the MP printing press.
- This will produce 6000 tons of high-quality and durable security paper annually. These special papers are used not only for printing currency notes but also for printing non-judicial stamp papers and passports. This security paper mill operates under the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited.
- It holds a monopoly in the production of currency paper in the country. Despite economic growth and the increase in digital transactions, the use of banknotes is increasing, and thus the demand for them continues to grow.
- This makes this upgrade necessary. The high-security paper features elements such as watermarks, security threads, and special fibres, which play a crucial role in preventing counterfeiting.
