"Classical Language Literary Award" for outstanding literary works - Chief Minister Stalin's announcement
- The Government of Tamil Nadu will present annual national-level awards for outstanding literary works published in specific Indian languages.
- The Government of Tamil Nadu will present annual national-level awards, titled "Classical Language Literary Award," for outstanding literary works published in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Bengali, and Marathi languages.
- Along with the award, a cash prize of Rs. A prize money of ₹5 lakh will also be awarded," Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced.
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today (18.01.2026) laid the foundation stone for the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor project (4-lane section of Kaliabor-Numaligarh section of National Highway-715) worth over ₹6,950 crore in Kaliabor, Assam.
- Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Assam Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Ministers Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Shri Pabitra Margherita and others participated in the event.
- 5 new Amrit Bharat trains are operating from today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the launch ceremony of the new Amrit Bharat trains held in Assam on Sunday (Jan. 18) and flagged off the trains virtually.
- Prime Minister Modi launched 4 Amrit Bharat trains on the following routes: Dibrugarh - Gomtinagar, Kamakhya - Rohtak, Kolkata (Howrah) - Anand Vihar, Kolkata (Sealdah) - Banaras, and Kolkata (Santragachi) - Tambaram.
- Earlier on Saturday (Jan. 17), Prime Minister Modi had launched 4 Amrit Bharat trains on the following routes: Alipurduar - SMVT Bengaluru, Alipurduar - Mumbai (Panvel), New Jalpaiguri - Nagercoil, and New Jalpaiguri - Tiruchirappalli, bringing the total number of Amrit Bharat trains operating in the country.
