Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia released a commemorative postage stamp to mark the 150th anniversary of the Bombay Gymkhana
- To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Bombay Gymkhana, the Department of Posts has released a commemorative postage stamp celebrating its illustrious sporting heritage and its enduring cultural contribution to the nation.
- The commemorative stamp was formally released by the Union Minister of Communications, Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia, at the Bombay Gymkhana in Mumbai.
- Mr. Sanjeev Saran Mehra, President of Bombay Gymkhana, Ms. Suchita Joshi, Postmaster General of Navi Mumbai Region, and others were present on the occasion.
- Established in 1875, the Bombay Gymkhana stands as a unique pillar of India's sporting and social heritage. It has nurtured generations of athletes while also serving as a vibrant hub for cultural and sporting pursuits.
- For a century and a half, the institution has played a pivotal role in fostering sportsmanship, camaraderie, and a strong sense of community engagement.
